P.enitente
Born in Angola, in Luanda on April 5, 1989.
At the age of eleven he travelled to The Netherlands. That’s when he entered into contact with music. Accompanied by two friends he sang a rap, written by an older friend. They rapped on a beat box that was on tape. It brought P.enitente to downloading american rap beats. Then he began writing his own lyrics, rapping about women and parties. Approximately two years later as he was growing, his background as a believer brought him back to a life of experiences with God. His faith made him decide to share with the world the happiness that he found, through his talents. At the age of thirteen he wrote with his former crew ‘MC=Messangeiros de Cristo’, a rap music entitled “Guerra Aberta à Satanás”. Unfortunately after a while the group disbanded. P.enitente went on as a solo artist, and at the age of fourteen he became also a music producer, producing his own beats.
His first presented production “Missão Possível”, was very well received at a youth meeting. He rapped on a tarrachinha beat (an angolan style), made by himself, with the collaboration of the rapper Kila Mike. Than in 2007 by his own productions he launched the songs, “Leão da Tribo de Judá”, “Corrida”, “Two Hearts”, and “Vem Me Inundar”, the song that won a Gospel Festival 2007 in The Netherlands. In the beginning of 2009, P.enitente launched officially his first evangelical kuduro, “Juventude Moça”. Later Joca Giovanni joins him and they decide to launch a mix tape of kuduro antiquebra-cabeça, produced by Trin.dade Records (a label he also started). “Juventude Moça” and “De Marca” are launched as singles and played on an angolan radio ‘Rádio Escola’. P.enitente is the foreman of Trin.dade Records and brings us music in genres as hip-hop/ semba/ rap/ kuduro/ kizomba/ house/ r&b/ zouk.
